bs,
I agree;the hype is huge right now on Mickey Rourke...it was a decent film BUT it was surely not great...but all in all,it was interesting to see a transition from being famous to being a struggling wrestler...better than most of the stuff Rourke has done anyways.

i thought it was a great movie ... it was meant to be raw and real. And to show the character's flaws, struggles and volunerabilities. I don't get how people thought he wasn't amazing in this movie because he simply was .... from the minute the moive started to when it finished i never once saw micky rourke ... i always saw Randy `The Ram` Robinson - thats what a great actor creates.
Plus, i found that this movie evoked lots of emotion from me .... i was sad at times, i was pulling for him at times, i was happy at times, i laughed, i was nervous for him at times, i was excited at times .... what else could you ask for?
Maybe i watched a different movie?

It was a good movie but I expected more I kind of fell asleep at the end on my couch I had to ask my husband how it ended. I found that Mickey Rourke did play his role good he struggled through his life and was always trying to pull together, what made me emotional was the relationship he had with his daughter...I wish she would have given him a chance everyone makes mistakes in life we just have to forget about them and move on life's to short.

I'd have to agree with gybs...there's a little bit of all of us in that character.
