what do you do when you start to feel overtrained !!! example you been training hard and making really good gains but it creeps up on you and you feel sore longer than little nagging pains and more irritated

Welcome aboard...well,it's hard to assess because we all respond differently but if you feel as though you just can't bring it in the gym,one "common sense" answer would be to "dial it down" a notch (volume wise) ie: # of sets is one way, longer rest periods,etc...usually,and this is very general here, when dialing down one's training,a rebound is experienced where you start getting your groove back...although this is very general here and without knowing your own situation as far as response, this process usually works most of the time...IN GENERAL!But be patient,it could take a few weeks but will be worth your while...this way you can still continue the "stimulation" process but avoid burning yourself out!!! theos
