So after some coaxing from Theo , I decided to post my 1 year progress here on the forums.
I hired Theo about a year ago when I was a junior in college. I have played sports my entire life. I played tennis and soccer in high school and I continued my soccer "career" in college. At the time, I was 21 years old and 5'11" 143lbs. My goal was to improve my athletic performance on the field for my senior season. Nevertheless, the soccer program at our university was cut due to a lack of interest and budgetary issues. Thus, I told Theo that I wanted to focus on cosmetic enhancement.
In the past year, I have grown in a multitude of ways.
Physically: My work capacity has improved tremendously. The amount of volume that I am able to handle now is a true testament to the effective program design by Theo and Scott Abel's principles. Moreover, I have gained LBM. My scale weight has gone up a quality 15lbs. Lastly, I had several dietary issues prior to starting out with Theo. I had problems with saturated fats, certain types of foods, but these issues have slowly been subsiding as a result of my diet protocol.
Mentally: I have always had a competitive spirit. However, many times during my training session, I have had to dig deep to crank out those last set of reps or finish the training session. Most of these training sessions induce a significant amount of o2 debt and one must be mentally prepared to deal with it. Moreover, I find myself more focus on work and school because of higher energy levels. Finally, I have learned that training is truly a "learning curve." Each training sessions and program makes you more efficient and in tune with your body. I continue to learn more and more everyday and I look forward to the learning more in the future.
Emotionally: Although most people would put this under the mental category, I believe these is a sign of emotional maturity. Initially, I would get very angry with myself for a bad training session. However, with time I have come to realize that bad days will occur and that consistency is more important than weekly zig and zags.
In the end, I really want to thank Theo for all of his guidance and patience throughout the process. I look forward to continuing my journey with him. I know I am a work in progress, but I am excited for the future.
