Just wanted to give you guys an update. The diet is great, refeeds are HUGE and I feel as pot is finally melting. To be honest I had to increase my daily calories to 2000 while having regular spikes on Sundays and carb-up meal on Wednesday (I weight 160lbs at 5'7). Theo, you were dead on about being careful about responses (and other things). I never expected to be eating this much on my diet days while spiking regularly. Good stuff!!
Thanks for your help Theo

To Theo or anyone else on a high fat diet, I'm curious about what a typical day consists of. Personally, I can't imagine having low or no carbs. Of course this is individual and rare, but it seems like your food options would be very limited. Eggs, cheese, fatty meats, nuts, oils, fatty fish, butter....what else?

For myself it's whole eggs, red meats, chicken (all parts), avocado, cottage cheese, peanut butter (in LARGE amount) or nuts, choice of fatty fish. I tend to stand away from oils.
I don't think the choices are limited. The choices will vary from one individual to another as some people respond differently to different foods. For example, fatty cheeses are a no no for me. It is still individual, just like any other approach.
I am sure others will chime in.

It all depends on needs state and goal orientation;in addition, not too many people CAN eat this way...for myself,it's a rotation on almost oils and fatty fish like trout, steak, whole eggs,chicken/turkey breasts and horse meat...this is ME and function very well on it.There's many who use peanut butter, almond butter,cheese,etc...but not me...especially when attempting to lean out...I always keep it simple BUT tasty...most who attempt this have a hard time;you need to be an efficient fat burner to be happy on this diet and therefore be functional.

Theo, do you believe in the whole 'anabolic' effect of high fat diet Dr. D speaks of in his writings?

Only if the trainee is meant to eat this way...I've seen similar anabolic effects on high/moderate carb diets...depends on what the trainee will use up more efficiently as fuel, whether for building lean body mass or for fat burning...in addition,to be able to accomplish both, you need to find your 'sweet spot' so to speak metabolically...that's my take.

When I look back at my experience on this diet, your post falls right into the place, especially the "sweet spot" comment. Personally I could never achieve same effect on carb based diet. It was usually two extremes, either gaining weight/fat, or leaning out. I am now consuming 2700-3000 cals with weekly carb-ups and keeping fairly lean (5'7, 170 lbs). That alone speaks volumes.
